Latest Novel Exposes the Underworld of Washington Politics

Mandeville, LA (PRWEB) September 27, 2007 -- Favorite Son, a new novel by one-time political insider Murray Fincher, is the story of an underdog's struggle to dismantle a corrupt political system controlled by a conniving ex-president wise in the ways of Washington.

In Favorite Son, a near-death experience transforms protagonist Cass Carothers from a college playboy into a Congressional dynamo. However, the shady politicians of Washington's underworld hinder his progress. Carothers makes it his mission to set things right, but, as he soon discovers, it will be no small feat. Carothers must outwit his own father and gain power over his mother in a tug-of-war battle fought on two fronts - his hometown and in Washington.

Fighting alongside him are his chief-of-staff and a beautiful academic activist. Forging alliances with 18 young Congressional first-timers who are also eager to make the administration more accountable, they plan their attack on the "good ole boy" bureaucracy. But can a small, inexperienced politician really bring down the great old hands of Washington?

Highly suspenseful and stunningly candid, Favorite Son demonstrates how practical idealism can thrive in the polluted world of politics. This is a novel that will resonate with all citizens, no matter what their political persuasion.
